Still at Amatitlan

So we've been at Auto Marisco for the last two days.  During this evening's travel meeting, Norm (our guide) agreed that we could head to El Salvador.  We're going to be spending the night at the border, which means we'll be hot, but hopefully we'll get to the National Park early enough to enjoy it.  Only time will tell.

Today Sandra and I went to the grocery store.  Buying produce is the easy part.  When we got back you have to soak all produce in a Microban solution for at least 30 minutes before you can cook it or prepare it.  Needless to say, I spent well over 2 hours prepping the produce I bought.  Lettuce, tomatoes, peas, squash are all blanched and either in the fridge or freezer.  It was a lot of effort on my part.  Roger provided moral support and useful hands when I was draining stuff and clean up.

We both went to the pool to relax after an arduous 2 hours of cooking.  At the pool we talked (sort of) with a Guatemalteco about a lot of things.  He was a mechanic and has made two trips to the US for cars that he towed down from Dallas.  Mike introduced his wife, but she had very little to say.  Mike knew some English, so with our Spanish and his English there was some conversation.

For our evening excitement, we flushed our black and grey water tanks,  Sounds exciting right?

Tomorrow we'll head to the border of Guatemala and El Salvador.  Nothing pictureworthy today.
