3 months gone

6 Sept  (3 months gone)

We left Iguazu today.  Typical of our travel:  the shuttle service was 45 minutes late picking us up.  It was a good thing the airport only has 2 gates and our plane was delayed over an hour due to weather in Buenos Aires.  So far the on time record with Aerolineas Argentinas has not been good with our small sample size of 6 flights.

We had to change airports from the national airport to the international airport in Buenos Aires today, so we had a 45 minute cab ride to our hotel which is still 20 minutes away (but close) to the international airport.  I'm glad I decided to book a hotel close to the international airport, because we drove across town to get to the hotel and I can't imagine how early we would have had to make the transit.  At least tomorrow is Sunday, so traffic should be light in the morning.

Random thoughts because it was a travel day:

Translations are interesting.  There's a lot of liberal interpretation on TV from English to Spanish in subtitles.  There's a lot of poetic license in written brochures as well.  For example the local animal rehab center has listed that among the animals it has to see, there's a 10-foot crocodile from Missouri, USA.  Didn't know there were crocodiles in Missouri, wonder where it was originally imported from?

Toilets come in all shapes and sizes.  Today's picture is the latest combo example of rectangular and oval.

Roger never did find out where the new Manu Ginobili statue is in Buenos Aires.  I'm disappointed in the KSAT sports team for not answering my E-Mail.  However this picture was taken in the National Aeropuerto, and I'm surprised that Roger actually hammed it up with "Manu".

  1. Can't believe you couldn't find Manu's statue in Buenos Aires! The one in the airport is nice, but where is the Silver & Black?!? :)
