Colombians

8 Sept

We went to the Feria to do some shopping.  There were lots of emeralds to choose from, to the point of seeing too many to make a decision.  This was hard for a couple of non-shoppers.  Interestingly enough there were a lot more smooth emeralds than when I was in Colombia with Natalia.  Maria Helena was a big help and Jaime found some man space for Roger and him to sit and ponder more manly things.

Afterwards we headed to Club Colombiano for lunch with Mario and Maritza, Jorge, Julian (Gloria's son) plus Jaime, Maria Helena, Roger and me.  It was a long lunch and the food was just as good as the company.  Roger was exhausted trying to follow the conversation.  It was challenging especially with Jorge, who doesn't talk very loud coupled with restaurant ambient noise.  Plans were made for the rest of our time in Bogota.

We ended up back at Jaime's townhouse around 4:20, just in time for Jaime to get Valeria ( his grand daughter off the school bus.)  Valeria is Patricia's and Carlos's precocious 5 year old daughter.

Everybody sends their Colombian regards to Mary Ellen, Reid, Natalia, and Timothy.  The last time I saw Mario was in 2001.  He hasn't changed much.

  1. Very handsome family! Any bachelors that might be coming to visit you? Remember, I have a beautiful, intelligent, extremely witty daughter who also happens to be a lawyer. In case they need a "guide" in S.A. :)
